Early Beginnings and Musical Awakening
Born into a world rich with varied musical genres, Amine Edge discovered his love for music around the age of 10. His early exposure to the German TV show "House TV" on Viva channel marked the beginning of an enduring passion for electronic music. From the ambient sound of Aphex Twin and Autechre to the Drum & Bass energy of Roni Size and Goldie, his taste quickly became eclectic and expansive.
Techno, through artists such as Joey Beltram and Carl Cox, and House music through Armand Van Helden, Todd Terry, and Masters At Work shaped his direction. His connection to music was never confined to electronic genres alone; Disco, Hip Hop, and R'n'B also became part of his foundation.
The DJ Emerges
By 13, Amine was not only listening to music, he was already collecting records and learning how to create movement between tracks. His first vinyl was "CJ Bolland - Sugar Is Sweeter (Armand Van Helden Remix)" and his first CD was "400hz - I've Got The Music In Me". Mixing became an obsession, a daily search for unusual sounds, rhythms, and combinations.
Pioneering in the Digital World
As internet access expanded, Amine Edge was among the first in Marseille to use it as a serious tool for music discovery. He sourced rare records online and distributed them locally, filling a gap in a city where music distribution lagged behind Paris. That instinct for access, curation, and timing became his first real step into the business side of music.
The Professional Leap
At 18, Amine secured his first DJ residency, where he played House and Garage exclusively. Moving through different clubs brought both experience and frustration. His musical choices often set him apart from local trends, and rather than compromise his identity, he stepped back from local DJing and turned his focus toward music production in 2005.
The Evolution of an Artist
Production became the place where Amine found his strongest voice. Influenced by Progressive House artists including Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, and John Digweed, he began building his own sound and releasing music. This period brought the creation of his label and recognition from figures such as Carl Cox and Larry Heard.
The Birth of G-House
In 2011, Amine entered a pivotal chapter with his best friend Laurent, known as DANCE. Together they created music that felt less like a formula and more like a disruption: a blend of Gangsta attitude and House groove that quickly found a home online.
SoundCloud gave the duo direct access to a global audience. Their track "Going To Heaven With The Goodie-Goodies" caught the attention of Solomun and helped launch a wider movement. What started as a playful tag, G-House, became associated with their sound and with a new era of club energy.
Rising to Global Prominence
Amine Edge, alongside DANCE, became a global name. They performed at major clubs and festivals, from Pacha Ibiza to Coachella, and brought their signature sound to dance floors across the world. A Mixmag cover, international recognition, and a DJ Award alongside names such as Carl Cox and Black Coffee reflected the impact of that period.
New Horizons
After 2020, Amine moved between Portugal and Brazil, absorbing new cultures and new rhythms. While DANCE returned to his first love, Hip Hop, Amine continued developing CUFF as a platform for House music and emerging artists. His solo work, showcases, and releases continue to connect with fans worldwide.
The Unending Beat
Today, Amine Edge stands as a testament to passion, perseverance, and the pursuit of a unique sound. His journey from a young music enthusiast in Marseille to an international DJ and producer continues to inspire artists, DJs, and listeners around the world.
